The Women’s Right to Know Act

The Women’s Right to Know Act would require doctors to provide information on the development of the unborn child, alternatives to abortion and medical risks of abortion at least 24 hours prior to the planned abortion.

Unborn Victims of Violence Act

The Unborn Victims of Violence Act recognize unborn children as victims of violent crimes when they are harmed when pregnant women are attacked.

Health Care Rights of Conscience Act

The Health Care Rights of Conscience Act would protect the consciences of health care providers, payers, and those who direct health care institutions who decline to participate or promote acts which violate their consciences. The purpose of the Act is to protect as a basic right of all health care providers, institutions, and payers to decline to counsel, advise, pay for, provide, perform, assist or participate in providing or performing heath care services that violate their consciences. Such health care service may include but are not limited to abortion, human embryonic stem cell research, fetal experimentation, assisted suicide, and sterilization. The Act would prohibit all forms of discrimination, disqualification, coercion, disability upon such health care providers, institutions, and payers that decline to perform any health care service that violates their consciences.

Physician Only Requirement

Rhode Island Right to Life urges the Rhode Island Department of Health to change its regulations such that only physicians would be able to perform abortions in Rhode Island.
